To make the maple vinaigrette, add the maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, stone-ground mustard, garlic, salt, and pepper to a bowl. After that, whisk these ingredients together.

We used one small head of green cabbage in this recipe. We shredded it but you could also buy pre-shredded cabbage. Just make sure you have about 5-6 cups of shredded cabbage for the salad.

What Bacon To Use For Salads

This cabbage salad is made with cooked center-cut bacon. Feel free to substitute the bacon for turkey bacon if you would like or omit it altogether. It is delicious each way!

How To Make Maple Vinaigrette Sugar Free

This maple vinaigrette is made with maple syrup. If you are using regular maple syrup, we recommend using grade A maple syrup. To make the maple vinaigrette sugar-free you can use Lakanto sugar-free maple syrup.

Ingredients 

For The Salad

  • 1 small head of green cabbage, about 5-6 cups shredded
  • 4 pieces of center-cut bacon
  • 1 cup diced cooked chicken breast
  • 3 medium-sized apples

For The Vinaigrette

  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon stone-ground mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Instructions 

  • Shred the small head of cabbage. Then, cook the bacon, let it cool, and cut it into small pieces. Also, dice the cooked chicken breast. After that, wash and dry the apples before chopping them into tiny pieces.
  • Add the shredded cabbage, cooked and chopped bacon, diced cooked chicken breast, and chopped apples to a large bowl.
  • To make the maple vinaigrette, add the maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, olive oil, stone-ground mustard, garlic, salt, and pepper to a bowl. Thoroughly whisk these ingredients.
  • Pour the maple vinaigrette over the salad and toss until everything is combined. Enjoy!
