- 2 cans of albacore tuna in water, drained, 8 ounces once drained
- 2 tablespoons capers rinsed and drained
- 1/3 cup red onion diced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic
- 2 teaspoons chopped fresh dill
- 4 teaspoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 ½ teaspoons white wine vinegar or champagne vinegar
Drain the albacore tuna. Also, rinse and drain the capers. Then, dice the red onion and chop the fresh dill.
Flake the tuna with a fork and add it to a large bowl. Then, add the capers, red onion, salt, pepper, garlic, dill, freshly squeezed lemon juice, and white wine vinegar or champagne vinegar to the bowl. After that, thoroughly mix and enjoy! Store leftover tuna salad in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
- Tuna: You can use any kind of canned tuna in this recipe. We used albacore tuna in water, not in oil, to lighten up this recipe.
- Substitute For Capers: If you don’t have capers, substitute them for pickle relish or chopped pickles.
- Meal Prep: You can double this tuna salad recipe and meal prep it. It is such a great recipe to have on hand.
- Storage: Store leftover tuna salad in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days.
