REFRESHING AND EASY SKINNY MARGARITA

This light and refreshing skinny margarita recipe uses fresh citrus, sparkling water, and your choice of natural sweetener, no sugary mix is needed!

Ingredients

For One Skinny Margarita

  • 1 ounce tequila
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1 ounce fresh orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon agave, honey, or sugar substitute adjust to taste
  • 2 ounces grapefruit sparkling water, lime, lemon, or plain
  • ice cubes to fill glasses
  • chili lime seasoning or salt for the rim

For a Pitcher of Skinny Margaritas

  • 6 ounces tequila
  • 6 ounces fresh lime juice
  • 6 ounces fresh orange juice
  • 2-3 tablespoons agave, honey, or sugar substitute adjust to taste
  • 12 ounces grapefruit sparkling water
  • ice enough to fill a pitcher or add to individual glasses
  • chili lime seasoning or salt for rimming glasses
  • lime slices for garnish

Instructions

  • Pour a little water onto a plate. Dip the rim of your glass into the water, then into salt or chili lime seasoning.
  • In a cocktail shaker or glass, combine tequila, lime juice, orange juice, and your sweetener of choice. Stir or shake well.
  • Add ice cubes to the prepared glass. Pour the mixture over the ice.
  • Add the grapefruit sparkling water and stir gently to combine. Then, add a wedge of lime if desired, and enjoy!
  • For The Pitcher: In a large pitcher, stir together tequila, lime juice, orange juice, and sweetener until well combined and the sweetener is fully dissolved. Refrigerate the mixture until ready to serve, if desired. If you'd like, rim each glass with a lime wedge and dip it in chili lime seasoning or salt. Just before serving, pour the base into ice-filled glasses, then top with grapefruit sparkling water and stir gently. Garnish with lime slices and serve.

Notes

  • Spicy Skinny Margarita: For a spicy margarita, rim your glass with Tajín or chili lime seasoning. Garnish with sliced jalapeño for extra heat and a vibrant pop of flavor.
  • Sparkling Water To Use: I love using grapefruit-infused sparkling water because it perfectly complements the citrusy flavors in the margarita. Lime or lemon sparkling water is another great option, but if you don’t have either on hand, plain sparkling water works as well.
