HEALTHY CHICKEN BURGERS

Fire up the grill and sink your teeth into the ultimate healthy chicken burgers. They are so easy to make with just the right amount of seasoning.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken breast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 American cheese slices optional

Instructions

  • Add the ground chicken breast to a large bowl. Then, add the salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce to the bowl. Use your hands to thoroughly season the meat.
  • Form four, 4-ounce ground chicken patties. Roll them into balls with your hands and then press them down on a sheet pan with parchment paper or use a burger press.
  • Lightly spray your grill pan with olive oil. Then, heat your grill pan to medium heat and add the patties. Cook the ground chicken patties for about 4-6 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165℉ and they are fully cooked.
  • If you are going to add cheese, add it to the burger when they have about 1 minute left of cooking time. Then, put the lid of the pan on to quickly melt the cheese. Once cooked, assemble your burgers with your bun of choice, favorite condiments, and toppings of choice. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Meat: We used ground chicken breast to make these burgers. However, regular ground chicken will work, as well. If you don’t want to use chicken, use lean ground turkey or ground turkey breast in this recipe instead.
  • Burger Bun: Use your favorite burger buns for this recipe. Some options are low-carb or whole-wheat burger buns, or use lettuce in place of a bun.
  • Cheese: Use your favorite cheese in this recipe or omit it altogether. We used American cheese slices. We also love sharp white cheddar cheese slices.
