- 1 pound ground turkey breast
- 1 egg whisked
- 1/4 cup gluten-free plain breadcrumbs or gluten-free panko
- 1/4 cup pecorino romano or grated parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon oregano
- 3 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
- 1 tablespoon chopped flat-leaf parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Whisk the egg in a large bowl. Then, add the ground turkey breast, breadcrumbs, pecorino romano, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil, parsley, salt, and pepper to the bowl.
Thoroughly combine all of the ingredients with your hands. Then, gently form 12 meatballs. Don’t press them too hard or they will be dense.
Place the turkey meatballs on a sheet pan with parchment paper. Bake the meatballs at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 17-20 minutes or until fully cooked, when they reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Don’t overcook the meatballs or they will be dry and hard.
- Ground Turkey To Use: We used 99% ground turkey breast in these meatballs. You could substitute this for 93% lean ground turkey.
- Ground Turkey Substitution: You could use ground chicken breast in this recipe instead of ground turkey breast.
- Storage: Store leftover meatballs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
