CREAMY MUSHROOM ALFREDO SAUCE

I absolutely love this time-saving creamy mushroom alfredo sauce. With this recipe, you can easily up-level your favorite jar of store-bought alfredo sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 medium-sized shallot
  • 8 ounces cremini mushrooms
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic crushed
  • 1 teaspoon Italian herbs
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup your favorite store-bought Alfredo sauce
  • 1/3 cup low-fat milk
  • grated parmesan cheese optional

Instructions

  • Dice your shallot and slice the mushrooms.
  • Boil water for your pasta, lentils, or favorite pasta alternative, and cook it while you make the sauce.
  • Lightly spray a pan with oil over medium heat on the stove. Then, add the shallot, mushrooms, garlic, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper to the pan. Saute the mushrooms. This will take about 5-8 minutes. The mushrooms will become smaller in size.
  • Once the mushrooms are sauteed, add the Alfredo sauce and milk to the pan. Mix everything and let the sauce simmer on low for 3-5 minutes.
  • Once your pasta is cooked, drain it and add it to the pan with the sauce. Then, mix, serve, and enjoy! We love grating some fresh parmesan cheese on top.

Notes

  • Mushrooms To Use: We used cremini mushrooms, also known as baby Bella mushrooms.
  • Alfredo Sauce: Use your favorite store-bought Alfredo sauce in this recipe. We like the black truffle Alfredo sauce and regular Alfredo sauce from Trader Joe’s.
  • Milk To Use: We used low-fat milk in this recipe to add creaminess and lighten up the sauce. However, you can use any milk that you prefer.
