Ingredients

  • 16 ounces unsweetened vanilla almond milk
  • 2 Tazo black chai tea bags
  • 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup or sweetener of choice or more to taste

Instructions

  • Add the unsweetened vanilla almond milk to a saucepan and heat it over medium heat on the stove. Once it starts lightly simmering, remove it from the heat so it doesn’t burn.
  • Remove the paper from the end of the tea bag strings so they don’t get in the milk when you steep the tea. Add the black chai tea bags to the heated almond milk and steep for 5-7 minutes or longer for a stronger flavor.
  • Remove the tea bags from the saucepan. After that, add the ground cinnamon, vanilla extract, and maple syrup to the saucepan with the almond milk.
  • Thoroughly whisk the ingredients in the saucepan. Heat the chai tea latte over low heat on the stove until warm, and whisk so it doesn’t burn.
  • Pour the chai latte into a heat-safe mug or cup and enjoy.

  • Milk: Use your milk of choice. Some options are unsweetened vanilla almond milk, oat milk, cashew milk, low-fat milk, or whole milk.
  • Flavor: For a stronger flavor, add another tea bag.
