Servings: 2 servings
- 1 pint fresh strawberries, hulled and finely diced
- 1/4 cup finely diced red onion
- 1 medium jalapeño, about 3 tablespoons finely diced
- 3 tablespoons fresh chopped cilantro
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
Wash and dry the fresh strawberries. Then, hull the strawberries and finely dice them.
Finely dice the red onion. Then, remove the seeds from the jalapeño and finely dice it. Also, remove the stems from the fresh cilantro and chop the leaves.
Add the finely diced strawberries, red onion, jalapeño, and cilantro to a large bowl. Then, add the freshly squeezed lime juice over top and add the salt.
Thoroughly mix the strawberry salsa.
Drizzle the honey over the salsa and then mix again to incorporate it throughout. After that, serve the salsa right away or refrigerate it for an hour to let the flavors meld.
- Ripe Strawberries: Pick bright red and firm strawberries for this salsa. Avoid mushy strawberries as they will be unable to dice.
- Refrigerate: You can refrigerate this strawberry salsa before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Storage: This strawberry salsa will last up to one day when stored in an airtight container in the fridge. It is best enjoyed fresh after making it.
