Servings: 4 servings
- 1 pound brussels sprouts
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 lemon for zest optional
Slice the Brussels sprouts in half lengthwise. Then, add them to a large bowl.
Toss to coat the sliced Brussels sprouts with the olive oil. Then, add the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.
Mix well until the Brussels sprouts are evenly coated in the seasonings.
Freshly grate the Parmesan cheese onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, creating an even layer.
Place the Brussels sprouts cut side down on top of the grated Parmesan, keeping them close together.
Bake at 400°F for 25-30 minutes, depending on the size of the Brussels sprouts, until golden and crisp on the bottom and tender.
Top with lemon zest, let them slightly cool, and enjoy!
- Italian Seasoning Swap: If you don’t have Italian seasoning, use 1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano and 1/2 teaspoon of dried basil instead.
- Freshly Grate the Parmesan: Skip the pre-grated Parmesan cheese. Freshly grated Parmesan melts and crisps up much better, giving the Brussels sprouts incredible flavor and texture.
