Servings: 2 servings
- 1 cookies and cream protein shake (10-11 ounces)
- 1/4 cup cottage cheese fat-free, low-fat, or full-fat
- 1 pinch salt optional
- 2-3 Oreo cookies
Pour the cookies and cream protein shake into a large blender. Then, add the cottage cheese and an optional pinch of salt. Thoroughly blend the ingredients until smooth and creamy.
Pour the mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container. Our Expert Tip: To help create a flat surface and avoid peaks, place a lid that fits inside the container before adding the Ninja Creami lid. Then, secure the Creami lid and freeze it overnight.
Remove from the freezer, install the pint in your Ninja Creami, and run the “Lite Ice Cream” setting.
It’s normal for the ice cream to look crumbly or powdery after the first spin. Add a splash of almond milk or your milk of choice, and re-spin on the “Lite Ice Cream” setting once or twice until smooth and creamy.
Make a small well in the center of the ice cream, add the crushed Oreo cookies, and run the “Mix-In” cycle. Or, you can simply sprinkle crushed Oreos on top before serving. Then, serve immediately and enjoy!
- Protein Shake Flavor: Chocolate or vanilla protein shakes both work great if you don’t have cookies and cream.
- Make the Protein Shake: Use 10-11 ounces of unsweetened vanilla almond milk or your milk of choice and 1 scoop of your favorite chocolate, vanilla, or cookies and cream protein powder.
- Pudding Mix: If you don’t want to use cottage cheese, consider adding 1 tablespoon of instant pudding mix or 1 teaspoon of sugar-free instant pudding mix for added creaminess. Or, you can even add this in addition to the cottage cheese.
