EASY WATERMELON GRANITA NO SUGAR

This easy watermelon granita is the best healthy and delicious treat! All you need to make it is a blender and a fork! It’s super refreshing and a great summer dessert. Also, there is no added sugar in this recipe which makes it even better!

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces frozen strawberries
  • 1/4 large seedless watermelon (about 5-6 cups cubed watermelon)
  • 1/2 lime, squeezed
  • 1/8 teaspoon lime zest

Instructions

  • Cut the watermelon into small cubes. Then, add the cubed watermelon and frozen strawberries to the blender. After that, add the lime zest and lime juice to the blender.
  • Blend until everything is thoroughly combined. Then, pour the liquid mixture into a freezer-safe airtight container with a lid and freeze for 3-4 hours. Scrape the granita with a fork every hour to break up the chunks and enjoy!

  • Viral TikTok Watermelon Shaved Ice: If you prefer not to blend the ingredients for a traditional granita, you can make the viral watermelon shaved ice. First, cut a watermelon into a 2-inch thick circle. From there, cut it into four pieces. Then, freeze the pieces of watermelon in a freezer-safe bag overnight. Once frozen, grate the watermelon into a bowl using a microplane grater. Then, drizzle with freshly squeezed lime juice and optional honey.
