For The Burgers:
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1 egg
- 1/3 cup seasoned Italian breadcrumbs or panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 4 burger buns optional
Sauce & Cheese:
- 3/4 cup marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded light Mozzarella cheese
- fresh basil optional
Add the ground chicken, egg, breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, oregano, basil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to a large bowl. Mix to combine the burger mixture.
Divide the mixture into four, even-sized balls. Then, press down to form the patties.
Lightly spray a non-stick pan or grill pan with oil over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for about 4-6 minutes per side, or until fully cooked and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Evenly spoon the marinara sauce over each patty. Sprinkle with shredded light mozzarella cheese, then place the lid on the pan to melt the cheese.
Serve the burgers on your favorite buns, top with fresh basil leaves, and enjoy!
- Ground Chicken Substitution: For a leaner option, use ground chicken breast. Or, substitute the ground chicken with ground turkey or ground turkey breast.
- Marinara Sauce: You can use your favorite store-bought marinara sauce for convenience. Or, try our delicious homemade marinara sauce recipe, roasted tomato sauce, or slow cooker tomato sauce.
- Low-Carb Option: Use lettuce wraps instead of burger buns.
- Storage: You can store leftover cooked chicken Parmesan patties in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Store the buns separately to prevent them from getting soggy.
