Ingredients

For The Turkey Burgers

  • 1 pound ground turkey breast
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 burger buns

Sauce For Burgers

  • 1/4 cup 0-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon light mayonnaise optional
  • 2 teaspoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon pickle relish
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Add the ground turkey, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and Worcestershire sauce to a large bowl.
  • Mix the ingredients until thoroughly combined, but don’t overmix.
  • Divide the mixture into four even-sized portions. Roll the mixture into four even balls and lightly press them down to form the patties. Each burger patty should be about four ounces and 1/2 inch thick.
  • Place an optional parchment paper liner in your air fryer basket. Then, add the turkey burger patties to the air fryer basket. Depending on the size of your air fryer basket, you may need to cook the patties in batches.
  • Air fry the turkey burger patties at 375°F for 8-10 minutes, or until fully cooked and they reach an internal temperature of 165°F. Flip the patties halfway through while they are cooking so they cook evenly.
  • To make our homemade special sauce for burgers add the 0-fat Greek yogurt, light mayonnaise, ketchup, pickle relish, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and apple cider vinegar to a bowl. Then, thoroughly mix the sauce.
  • Once the turkey patties are fully cooked, let them slightly cool. Optional: Toast the burger buns in the air fryer for a few minutes. Then, assemble the turkey burgers. Add a cooked patty to each burger bun, top with our special sauce, add other optional toppings, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Storage: Store leftover air-fried turkey patties in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
  • Flip Halfway: You must flip the burgers halfway through so they cook evenly on both sides and are fully cooked.
  • Cook Patties In Batches: Depending on the size of your air fryer basket you may need to cook the turkey patties in batches. If all four patties don’t fit, cook two at a time.
  • Ground Turkey: We made these turkey burgers with 99% fat-free ground turkey breast. You can use 93% lean ground turkey if you prefer. Or, use ground chicken breast for this recipe instead of ground turkey.
  • Cheese: You can add cheese to your burgers. Add cheese in the last one to two minutes so it melts while the burgers finish cooking.
